  • Have you heard about the Pedal for Polar Bears Challenge?
.
It’s a challenge by Polar Bears International (PBI) that encourages everyone to have fun, exercise, cut back on carbon emissions, and ultimately help polar bears and their habitats. (Make sure you ride your bike safely. PBI has a great download on their site for this.)
.
1 Week Math Activity:
• Keep track of your biking miles for 1 week.
• Find out how many miles per gallon your family’s vehicle gets on average.
• Calculate how many gallons of gas you saved while riding your bike. • For every gallon you saved, you cut back on 20lbs of CO2!
  • This week we are focusing on Polar Bear books. The first one on our list is Polar Bears and Penguins: A Compare and Contrast Book by Katharine Hall. .
What Polar Bear books are you reading in honor of International Polar Bear Day?
  • What are some of your favorite ice projects & experiments?
  • Did you know International Polar Bear Day is February 27th?
.
For the month of February, Emmett and I are going to be studying polar bears and donating to Polar Bears International. Join us for a month of polar bear activities with the new Go Explore Challenge!
.
How to do the challenge:
• Post 1 photo per week with the corresponding activity
• Caption #GoExploreChallenge

  • How many of you mamas forget to take pictures with you in them on your family adventures? .
Sometimes I’m so busy having a good time and taking pictures of Emmett I forget to get in front of the lens myself. On our field trip Tuesday I took a TON of photos, but none of them were of me. Thankfully I remembered to take a quick photo of myself before we left.
  • When you revisit a place like the National Museum of the Marine Corps, you always see something you didn’t notice the last time you were there. .
For example, Emmett and I saw this Exhibit with hammocks super close together yesterday. It really highlights the close quarters marines and sailors had on the warships.
  • Expedition Kitchen is a new segment I’ll be launching on YouTube next month where Emmett and I share wildlife inspired recipes you can make with your kids. Swipe for a sneak peek of episode one. (P.s. this first one is an Arctic Inspired dessert 😊)
